Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Karanlığın Yüreği- Modern Klasikler Dizisi

Product description

Conrad narrates the deeply shocking experience he had in the congo in 1890 in the heart of darkness. Today, the "hero" of the work, kurtz, who is referred to as a modernist classic, dies saying, "horror!" "the scream of ""horror!"" reflects the disappointment and psychological shock the author experienced in this country, who began his journey with high hopes." Like all great literary works, the heart of darkness has, over time, transcended the text its creator intended to write. Although the novella published in 1899 is a product of its time and describes the imperialist exploitation of europeans in africa, it has inspired discussions that have lasted for generations and continue to this day. These debates, which still keep the text alive today, include the self-discovery of modernism, the search for new narrative forms, the legacy of colonialism, the construction of social gender, the ecological consequences of imperialism and modernization, etc.

it drifts around.

Often praised for highlighting the devastating impact of colonialism on both the oppressor and the oppressed, heart of darkness, also labeled "racist" by some postcolonial african writers, is one of the most debated modern literary texts.
