Generic Canna Lily Red - 40CM TO 50CM

Product description

The canna lily plant is a rhizomatous perennial with tropical-like foliage and large flowers that resemble that of iris.

Canna lilies are low maintenance and easy to grow, and both their flowers and foliage offer long-lasting color in the garden.

Flower color may be red, orange or yellow.

Depending on the variety, foliage color varies from green to maroon, bronze, and variegated types.

Cannas like plenty of heat, so place them in full sun.

They can also tolerate partial shade.

Cannas like moist conditions too, but will tolerate nearly any well-draining soil that is either neutral or slightly acidic.

They appreciate bog-like conditions as well.

The soil should also be rich in organic matter.

Cover the rhizomes with 3 to 6 inches of soil.

Water well and apply a layer of mulch to retain moisture.

Once established, cannas need to be kept moist.

They also require monthly fertilizer that is relatively higher in phosphate for continual bloom.

WATERING GUIDE: In order for the plant to absorb the water directly from the tray, place the plant pot within the tray and fill it with water.

When the soil dries out, perhaps once a week, do this.

The plant's leaves will perish if you water it directly from the top.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS: Bright indoor light or indirect sun.

6 hours to 8 hours.

OPTIMAL TEMPERATURE: Keep the temperature between 18°C and 24°C.

Steer clear of draughts as they can cause unwanted temperature swings.

To keep your plant at the ideal humidity level, think about spraying it twice a week.

FERTILIZING: Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
