Generic Ficus Benjamina Midnight Lady - 110cm

Product description

Ficus benjamina, a species of flowering plant in the Moraceae family that is native to Asia and Australia, is often referred to as weeping fig, benjamin fig, or ficus tree.

It is frequently sold in stores as simply ficus.

It is Bangkok's official tree.

Ficus trees are perfect for gigantic houseplants in large spaces or bonsais since they can keep their tree-like shape no matter how big they get.

Their leaves come in two varieties: variegated and dark green.

Some creative nurseries have begun to braid or twist the plants into various designs in recent years, taking use of their flexible trunks.

The majority of ficus trees like bright indirect or filtered light, while variegated types may tolerate medium light rather well.

Strong, direct light can scorch leaves and cause them to fall off.

Ficus trees are also intolerant of drafts and low temperatures.

Although they truly prefer temperatures above 70 F (21 C), they must be kept at or above 60 F (16 C).

Place them somewhere where drafts won't be a problem because cold drafts from windows or doors will damage them.

It's critical to keep the area surrounding the plant somewhat humid.

Though they prefer high humidity, ficus trees don't like their roots to be unduly wet, therefore a good approach to boost their humidity is to regularly spritz them or place them on a pebble tray filled with water.

As a result, constantly examine the top layer of soil before watering.

Don't water them if the soil's surface is moist

this indicates that they have enough moisture.

They require water if the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch.
