Product description

"semerkant, the striking work of the world-famous lebanese writer amin maalouf, published in 1988, continues to maintain its priority on ""lists"" despite the passage of 30 years since its first meeting with its readers." "the plot of semerkant, which touches hearts with its multidimensional and impressive story, spanning the 11th and 20th centuries, blinks in the ""historical novel"" category from two different times." In the first part of the book, semerkant tells the story of the great poet omar khayyam's traveler life and his great love with his lover cihan, spanning centuries and civilizations and great loves. In this section, which took shape within the framework of hayyam's scientific and artistic life, maalouf starts from the lost work called rubaiyyat, which contains the poet's timeless works.

the other important personalities of the novel are hasan sabbah and nizamülmülk, who shaped the history of the middle east. In the second part of the story, benjamin omar, who fell into the paths to find the rubaiyat, shows himself to the reader as the real-time character of the novel. The success that maalouf achieved in semerkant is revealed at this point. Despite the sharp transition between the two stories, the author invites readers to a brand new “journey”, without losing anything from the fascinating narration of his novel. In the final part of the novel, benjamin, who goes to iran with the intention of finding and revealing the manuscript, finds himself in the middle of an adventure he never expected. Here, in addition to meeting individuals who played a significant role in the 1912 iranian revolution, she also finds the love of her life. 1912, which is also the year the titanic sank, forms the most important turning point in the novel.
