Product description

Fyodor mikhailovich dostoyevsky (1821-1881): his first novel, the humane, was published in 1846. The famous critic v. byelinski mentioned this work as the future great writer from dostoyevsky. However, although his later works were included among the literary classics in our era, they did not receive much attention at that time. The author was arrested in 1849 on the grounds that he was a member of the petrashevsky group, which was opposed to nikolay's repressive regime.

when he was sentenced to death for being lined up against the bullet, his sentence was converted to exile and compulsory military service. After the siberian exodus, he regained his former glory with the novels he wrote.

This book includes one of his most recognized works, 'white nights', which he wrote a year before his death, as well as all of his stories from 1848 such as 'the wife of another' and 'the husband under the bed', 'the christmas tree and marriage', 'the dignified thief', and 'the doughnut-hearted story'.
