Product description

Escape from Eleven - 416 pages In Campus Eleven, the hierarchy of the floors is everything.

My name is Eve Hamilton, and on my floor, life is all fight and struggle.

At least we're better off than those struggling in misery downstairs.

In the harsh world of Eleven, only those who live on the top floor, who rule us all from their gilded offices, have a comfortable life.

Four generations ago, the world was made uninhabitable.

Now the sun is too hot and the land too dry to feed people.

Those who manage to survive have no choice but to live underground. Although life here is not perfect, I have learned to survive as a fighter.

But my last fight was different.

This time my opponent was a mysterious fighter from the top floor, and something told me that this fighter, from whom we had such different lives, was much different than he appeared.

I could no longer endure Compound Eleven.

I could no longer spend my whole life fighting for my next meal.

I would fight for only one thing: My freedom! And in the eyes of this mysterious boy I saw a light that would save me from this place.

Lord of the Flies - 261 Pages Lord of the Flies was originally a story for young readers, R.M., about the adventures of children who are shipwrecked on a desert island. In fact, Golding, with his characteristic bitter sarcasm, as if to reinforce the reader's assumption, gives the two main characters of Lord of the Flies the names Ralph and Jack, taken from the children of the Atoll.

In The Atoll, Ballantyne describes, with a rather sentimental and somewhat cynical optimism, how three young Englishmen, having taken refuge on a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean after the sinking of their ship, reconstruct a highly successful small example of the civilization of Great Britain.

Golding's Lord of the Flies also has an atoll and English children. But these children, between the ages of six and twelve, have crash-landed on this atoll because the plane they were on to take them to safety during the coming atomic war has been attacked.

And what happens on this atoll is nothing like what happens in Ballantyne's novel...
