Product description

Mr. bihruz is a half-educated, spoiled, dreamy, and arrogant young minister, the son of a wealthy family. This young man from the tanzimat, who visits the apartment where he works from time to time, has the tastes of a perfectionist, such as dressing elegantly, showing off in luxury cars at visits, making expensive orders from stores in beyoğlu, and using french words while speaking. One day, mr. bihruz, who was going to çamlıca garden to market, saw a very beautiful woman in a luxurious landau and immediately fell in love.

this woman, who learns that her name is periveş and thinks she is from a high class, tries to communicate with this woman but gets no results. Over time, he cuts himself off from eating and drinking, and builds a world in his head with his imaginary lover. When he learns that his lover has died from his friend keşfi bey, who is notorious for his lies, he believes that a wrongly chosen poem in a letter he sent to his lover is the reason for this death. This time, he starts searching for periveş's grave to forgive himself. Recaizade mahmut ekrem, with his bihruz type he created in araba sevdasi, on the one hand, criticizes the pretentiousness, on the other hand, he does not hesitate to mock the romantic current prevalent in the literary world of the period.

“the whole novel is like a joke.

even death is a joke and a lie. Love is a joke, or a comedy of errors. But things change when it comes to hidden springs.

in the absence of seasoning and values, recaizade speaks in the most sardonic language. Ahmet hamdi tanpınar barcode: 9786253843199 format: book page count: 208 dimensions: 12.5 x 20.5 binding: paperback
