İthaki Yayınları Beren Ile Luthien / J.r.r. Tolkien

Product description

The epic story of beren and luthien, compiled from tolkin's unpublished texts on the back cover and turned into a book on its own, will once again bring together fans of middle earth, filled with elves, humans, orcs, and dwarves created by tolkin, including the hobbit, lord of the rings, silmarillion. J.r.r. Despite many details changing in the writing process of beren and luthien's story, which played a major role in the development of tolkien's silmarillion, the love they shadowed remained constant: beren was a mortal man, and luthien was an immortal elf. Her father, an important elf lord, was against her daughter being with beren, and if she wanted to marry luthien, beren had to perform an impossible task. Beren, along with luthien, would attempt to steal the most valuable jewel, the silmaril, from melkor, also known as the worst of the villains, the enemy, and morgoth. In this book, christopher tolkien examines the process from the date when beren and luthien's story was first written to its state in silmarillion, step by step, revealing how it transformed into the most important love story of middle earth and how it gradually occupied a larger place in this universe. While doing this, he publishes both the manzum and mensur forms of the epic for the first time together, without touching the words of his father, preserving their original forms.
