İmge Kitabevi Yayınları Gaspard de la Nuit

Product description

Gaspard de la nuit, in its history, is not just a book where the first examples of prose poetry (poème en prose) were collected, it is also a turning point where one era ended and a new era began.

Twenty-seven years after the publication of gaspard de la nuit, in 1869, charles baudelaire included the following paragraph in the preface of the book (le spleen de paris) where his writings were published, setting an example of great literary honesty and loyalty: &quot

I'll give you a little secret.

While i was perhaps mixing aloysius bertrand's famous gaspard de la nuit for the twentieth time, the idea of trying something similar came to my mind, to apply his so strangely, old life drawing method to the description of new life, or rather, a new and more abstract life... the one that is poetic and melodic without its harmony

Gaspard de la nuit was published about 30 years (1842) before lautréamont's maldoror's sarkilari and rimbaud's a season in hell. Aloysius bertrand is considered the founder of prose poetry, and gaspard de la nuit is regarded as its first masterpiece.
