Bougainvillea Pink Pixie’ FAMILY: Bougainvillea USES: Strong and continual flowering with pink bracts.

Does well as a low shrub, hedge – clipped or unclipped, as a groundcover, pot or container plant, en masse, in planters and on green roofs.

LOCATION: Full sun and reflected heat to partial shade.

Requires some protection from salty coastal winds SOIL: Best in an organically enriched fertile soil with a pH 5.6 – 7.8, acidic to mildly alkaline.

Will show leaf chlorosis if soil is too alkaline or saline.

FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 15:8:11 NPK with trace elements together with Fe chelate and seaweed as a soil drench every 4 months.

Do not use too much N which will encourage leaf growth rather than bracts.

WATERING GUIDE: In order for the plant to absorb the water directly from the tray, place the plant pot within the tray and fill it with water.

When the soil dries out, perhaps once a week, do this.

The plant's leaves will perish if you water it directly from the top.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS: Bright indoor light or indirect sun.

6 hours to 8 hours.

OPTIMAL TEMPERATURE: Keep the temperature between 18°C and 24°C.

Steer clear of draughts as they can cause unwanted temperature swings.

To keep your plant at the ideal humidity level, think about spraying it twice a week.

FERTILIZING: Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
