Preparation and Cleaning: If there is an old seal on the surface (or channel) where you will install the seal, remove it. Make sure the surface is completely clean, dry, dust-free, and grease-free. If necessary, wipe it down with a damp cloth and wait for it to dry completely. Measuring: Measure the length of the door or window edge where you will install the seal. Cutting: Using scissors or a utility knife, cut the silicone seal neatly to the measured length. (Bending the seal around corners without cutting it improves insulation performance.) Installation (For Channeled Systems): Insert the cut seal into the seal channel on the frame, starting at the corners and gently pressing it into place with your finger. Be careful not to stretch the seal too much while installing it; otherwise, it may shrink back over time.
