Preparation and Cleaning: If there is an old weatherstrip on the surface (or channel) where you will install the new one, remove it. Make sure the surface is completely clean, dry, dust-free, and grease-free. If necessary, wipe it down with a damp cloth and wait for it to dry completely. Measuring: Measure the length of the door or window edge where you will install the weatherstrip. Cutting: Cut the weatherstrip neatly to the measured length using scissors or a utility knife. (Bending the weatherstrip around corners without cutting it improves insulation performance.) Installation (For Channeled Systems): Insert the cut weatherstrip into the weatherstrip channel on the frame, starting at the corners and gently pressing it into place with your finger. Be careful not to stretch the weatherstrip too much while installing it; otherwise, it may shrink back over time.
