Product description

There are books that have transformed and changed us. This situation is valid for all of pierre hadot's works, whether they deal with marcus aurelius and plotinus, stoicism and mysticism.

The work in your hands offers an opportunity to get to know pierre hadot closely, a thinker whose works have inspired many scholars, and who was admired by them. he was a deep, humble, serious in his decisions, sometimes ironic, and never pretentious thinker. Hadot's thoughts reveal how to read and interpret ancient wisdom, how the philosophies of the ancients, and especially marcus aurelius' thought, can offer a better way of life.

According to hadot, who suggests that wisdom, often masked by the theoretical or systematic aspect of philosophy, is possible with a certain style of life or choice of life, “our life is unfinished in the strongest sense of the word… we do not live, we hope to live, we expect to live.

"in this interview, where hadot shows how philosophy can be adopted not only as an intellectual endeavor but also as a lifestyle, he helps us understand the evolution of philosophical thought from ancient greece to the middle ages and from there to the modern era, while on the other hand, he examines in detail how philosophers applied philosophical principles in their daily lives." This work serves as an inspiring guide for the pursuit of wisdom or virtuous living in today's world.
