Product description

Reality is fragile. Our memory gives us back lives we didn't have. A small bookstore in the streets of madrid. This bookstore is the most important tool for lola and matías, who have been thrown around by the destructive effects of the spanish civil war and live in the shadow of the past, showing that life once belonged to them and preserving their attachments to life. Lola, who clings to the memories of her past, meets alice, who has transformed the books for her own life purpose. This mysterious woman is secretly leaving old books on the shelves in the shop. We travel towards the beginning of the twentieth century and england through the mediation of these two women, one young and the other old, who start reading together. While they read lepiska hair girl, we also witness the lives that the book brings together. Izaguirre, who has won many awards, tells stories within stories in once upon a time, life was us. It highlights the fragile reality, the destructiveness of wars, the hope that sustains people, and the fact that even though people are alive, they still need love, in short, it reminds us of the times when life was our own in a naive way. "at one time, ""life was ours"" also carries a quality of admiration for books and literature, and it takes us from stories to be avoided to stories to be sought refuge in." Once upon a time, life was ours, is a fairy tale narrative filled with the smell of books, dreams, and stories.
