Yapı Kredi Yayınları News Came from a Foreign Country

Product description

Antoine berence, a former french army officer, is enjoying his retirement in a coastal town in canada where he settled with his wife marianne and his daughter ana. But there's something strange in this seemingly peaceful painting from the outside: for example, whose descendants are the argentine teenagers who suddenly appeared in the city? What exactly kind of duty did berence perform in algeria during his years with the french army? What is the source of the silence that marianne has been buried in for a long time? Alberto manguel, who we know for his works on the magic of libraries and reading, tells a story this time that takes readers on a journey across a wide geography from algeria to france, from canada to argentina. News from a foreign country is a harsh novel about not shying away from looking at the dark side of europe, about dirty pasts and facing these pasts. Promotional text
