Product description

“of all the things that have happened, they were only moments, a few places, a few episodes that were important to them as part of their lives. The rest, it was the filler of life, like sawdust stuffed to keep the important thing inside from breaking, just like the trunk that was taken on a long way. Here, the residents of katalin street have realized this fact. And do not forget that the difference between the dead and the living is also only quantitative, which does not matter much. During the life of every person, only one person falls to his share, to whom he can shout his name in his dying scream.” Says madga szabo, author of gate (yky, 2007). The story of three families linked to each other by having lived in the same street, katalin street, in budapest, before the war. The small paradise of this group of neighbors is shaken to the core by the cynical intervention of the nazis. Nothing will ever be the same again. In the novel, covering 40 years, starting with the 1930 s, not easy for hungary, the cataline street is at the center as a symbol of lost paradise and happy childhood.
