Product description

"the demon within us - sabahattin ali ""i found a permanent responsibility for my words and actions, which i did not know whether i wanted or not, but if the result turned against me, i claimed that i did not want it: i called it the demon within me, i blamed all my actions that i was afraid to defend on it, and where i would spit on my own face, i considered my self as worthy of compassion and care, like a victim who had been subjected to injustice and the whims of chance. however, neither my demon nor my saint? this is our pride and our stupidity's invention... the demon within us is not a very cunning escape route... there is no demon within us... there is weakness within us... there is laziness... there is helplessness, ignorance, and something more terrifying than all of these: the desire to escape from seeing the truths..."" in this novel, sabahattin ali shows the pressure of the social agenda on individuals and the ""trappedness"" of the powerless individual. a sharp look into the darkness of the enlightened ones, into the ""demon within the human""."
