Product description

The remnants of an old, large epic of some researchers, the fragments of such an epic turned into folk tales of others, and the dede korkut oğuznameleri, which some see as folk tales that have been epicized, have been written in an undetermined period and place. It is believed that these have undergone quite a few changes from their first written forms to the texts that have survived today, that is, manuscripts that are accepted to have been written in the 15th or 16th century. In the available texts, these tales are referred to as boy and oğuzname, and it is said that they were first told by dede korkut, who was born close to the time of the prophet muhammad, by playing the kopuz and reciting rhymed pieces.

It is passed down among the oghuz muslims who are nomadic, or among the christians who live in fortresses with them.

it is understood that what is described takes place in eastern anatolia, georgia and azerbaijan, and that the ones living in the castles and defeated in every battle are the georgians and the trabzon greeks, but it can be understood from the place names. While a few of the tales have survived as folklore in oral tradition, it is understood that written texts have not been widely disseminated, remaining in very limited numbers.

in this book, the texts of the oğuznameler in dresden and vatican writings, which are quite different from each other in places, are published separately for the first time, with many of their problems solved and the places that need to be restored have been restored.
