And now he's said goodbye to life. Euterpe, the eldest of the sisters, left a task behind: cecilia, in 1945, still a newborn baby, must find her uncle lorenzo, who disappeared without a trace.“my dear, cecilia. Have fun, as i figure out this complicated ordeal that has caused me over fifty years of pain and finally got me this disease. When you find lorenzo, tell him that i always knew he was alive.”for the first time in her life, cecilia leaves home to look for her uncle, whom she never knew she had. But it is not alone. Giada, a friend since elementary school, is there to help. So are the new friends he meets along the way: a generous bar owner and his daughter, a young man working in archives, an literature-loving policeman, even a young priest and an old nun. Cecilia starts her research among old papers, faded photographs and fuzzy memorabilia. What starts as a journey through a lane of memories, driven by his own recollections, and those of his family, and even the town's past, becomes a battle against the very evil that memory so often erases. Cecilia will discover a lot about her family and the city's past, but most importantly, she will learn how important it is to never forget.
