Hi, No, this device alone will not give your old tv internet, YouTube, or channel capabilities. Volty V0301006 Type-C Hub is not a "smart TV converter," it's a connectivity hub. The usage logic is as follows: Screen Mirroring: If you connect a phone, tablet or computer with DisplayPort (display transmission) support to this converter and plug the other end with an HDMI cable into your TV; your device's screen (YouTube, movies, etc. ) you can transfer to the tv. For Smart TV Function: To get your TV set to connect with internet and open YouTube/channels, you need to get an external smart media player such as Mi Stick or Android TV Box or Apple TV.
