Vakıfbank Kültür Yayınları The Origins of English Individualism

Product description

In this important book, one of the most respected living anthropologists, alan macfarlane, examines the story of england's five-century social transformation, from its medieval feudalism to the industrial revolution.

Macfarlane examines how the family law, land regime, property relations and model of religious-societal structure of thirteenth-century england, the era of the maturation of the feudal system, were different from the european mainland in the long run and what the roots of the “british exception” were based on.

The origins of english individualism, in dialogue with many historical sociologists such as marx, weber, bloch and goody, is a very rich work that shows not only the transformation of the family in english society, the transition from rural to urban, the conditions that prepared the enlightenment and the industrial revolution, but also many details of today's individualized anglo-american life culture…product name: the origins of english individualismproduct code: 9786057947796author: alan macfarlanepublication year: 2021cover type: paperbacknumber of pages: 328paper type: book papertranslator: onur i̇şci
