Product description

Enoch Arden is now available in Turkish! Sir Alfred Tennyson, one of the most important names in 19th century English poetry, greets his readers in Turkey approximately one hundred and fifty years later with his work titled Enoch Arden (1864), which is one of the cornerstones of British literature of the Victorian era. Even decades after its publication, Tennyson's narrative poem, who holds the title of 'Royal Poet', has maintained its influence

it is a cult work that has been translated into dozens of languages and has been adapted numerous times into cinema, opera, and theater. The poem begins with the play of three children living in a harbor town: Philip Ray, Enoch Arden, and Annie Lee. Both boys are in love with Annie. When they grow up, Annie marries Enoch. After seven years of marriage and having three children, Enoch goes on a sea voyage. However, the ship is wrecked, and Enoch spends ten years living a "Robinson Crusoe" life on a deserted island. So, will Enoch be able to return? What will he encounter upon his return? With the famous saying of Stéphane Mallarmé, all the answers to these questions are within the book.
