Product description

Lost time is an original work that invites us to rethink marcel proust, walter benjamin, and roland barthes' autobiographical texts, focusing on the photograph, identity, and emotion. In this work, katja haustein questions how authors handle photography in their texts, not just as a representational tool, but also as a cognitive possibility that shapes perception, memory, and self-perception.

This comparative study, which focuses on the permeabilities between visual culture and literature, individual memory and collective history, ethics and aesthetics, deals with proust's in search of lost time, benjamin's childhood in berlin at the beginning of the thousand and nine hundred faces and barthes' camera lucida with roland barthes, with visual, textual and auditory materials. This book, developed around concepts such as "memory," "aura," and "punctum," explores the possibilities of transforming life into a work of art, recognizing another in the image, and making emotion visible. Lost time, an indispensable resource for those who want to grasp the unique perspectives of three major writers of the twentieth century on the history of the gaze and the ways of perceiving humans, is waiting for its readers with the label of vakıfbank culture publications!
