Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Three Lives (Hardcover)

Product description

In her first published work, three lives, gertrude stein tells the story of three women living in the town of bridgepoint, each with different but similar lives. These three women from the working class have been unable to extricate themselves from the roles society has condemned them to and have lost control of their own lives. For the first time in 1909, three lives meeting readers is the beginning of bold experiments by modernist writers on the use of style and grammar. Time-space distortions and repetitions that disrupt traditional linearity demonstrate the author's rebellion against the established rules in literature. Applying what the impressionists and post-impressionists expressed in their artworks in prose, the author repeats certain words, phrases, and sometimes even a paragraph

he goes beyond the familiar punctuation and punctuation. "the non-linear narrative structure in ""good anna"" draws inspiration from the works of paul cézanne." "stein's friendship with pablo picasso paves the way for syntactic repetitions in the story ""melanctha""." And “polite lena” reveals the psychological portrait of a woman in the breeze of henri matisse. Promotional text
