Grandson witzleben learns that his only close relative in his life, his grandmother, is unhappy with the truth and happy with lies, just as he is learning to speak fluently.

the grandmother, who is passionate about glory, excess, great victories, and looks down on the rest of the city from her majestic home, wants her grandson to be worthy of his noble surname.

grandson makes desperate efforts, although he soon understands that he will not be able to live up to these expectations. He claims to have learned to read and write at a young age, but when it becomes clear that he cannot read and write, he claims to be blind

his educational life is now just about presenting his failures as successes. Grandma is about to give up hope from this boring life, but the grandson finds a solution: in the studio he sets up in the basement of the house, he will record cassettes, news that he will think his grandmother listens to from the radio, weather reports, sports matches.
