Product description

Yannis ritsos, one of the most important poets of contemporary world literature, started writing the diaries of exile in the kondopuli camp on limnos island, where he was sent due to his socialist political views in the autumn of 1948 after the civil war, and continued at the makronisos camp, where he was transferred at the end of 1949. The poems he wrote to keep a record of his life in harsh camping conditions turned into a diary that declared what happened during that period to the whole world. With the ritsos exile diaries, who stubbornly refused to sign the petition of regret imposed on the camps, he carried the voice of not only his companions, but also his hope and faith for years beyond
