Product description
In The Quest, Lou Andreas-Salomé tells the story of a woman who vacillates between unconditional submission to a man and total independence from him
this vacillation between two extremes is an issue the author has had to deal with in her own life. The protagonist, now a painter who has established her studio in Paris and devoted herself to her art, fell madly in love during her adolescence
but later on, when the relationship ends, the happiness of living her art triumphs over the love of her youth and she enthusiastically moves towards her goal of self-realization.Similarly, the author's own adolescence and even her adult life were guided by an endless intellectual curiosity
she even sought emotional fulfillment in intellectual sources.
The protagonist of this novel will eventually discover her own self, just like her creator, and will choose to live freely and to the fullest by realizing her potential, instead of joining the chain of generations of women who chose to "endure".
