Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Most People Are Good

Product description

Everyone, from machiavelli to hobbes, freud to pinker, believes this: people are evil! "if most people are good, there is a new argument: assuming that people are good is both a realistic and revolutionary action." When we think others are bad, both the worst aspects of politics and economics emerge, whereas assuming people are basically good allows for completely different options.

looking at the last 200,000 years of human history from a new perspective, bregman argues that we are more cooperative than competitive, and our instinct to trust one another goes back to when homo sapiens first emerged.

bregman shows that believing in human kindness and self-reliance can lay the foundation for a different way of thinking, which can lead to a genuine change in our society, saying that it is not optimism but realism that is needed to believe in it. "the book of the year according to the guardian, the daily telegraph, new statesman, and daily express ""it allowed me to see humanity from a brand new perspective."
