medarı maişet motoru is a first novel written by sait faik.

while it was being serialized in the new magazine (1940-41), it was found objectionable in the oppressive political environment of the period and it would be difficult to find a publisher for it as a novel. it was published in 1944 from ahmet i̇hsan printing house with the financial support of sait faik's mother.

however, as it was being distributed, some paragraphs of the novel, which was collected by the decision of the cabinet, were removed and it reached its readers in 1952 under the title of some people.

as i̇ş bankası culture publications, we are removing the years-long censorship on medarı maiş
