Product description

Ivan sergeyevich turgenev (1818-1883): he is among the 19th century russian novelists whose works were first translated in europe and our country.

he is referred to as the only russian writer of the turgenyev era with the european perspective, having studied at moscow, petersburg and paris universities. He has conveyed to his works the weak-willed russian intellectuals, the life of serfs, the loves of landowning nobles, and the radical young generation that he does not feel close to, in an unbiased and realistic language. "a month in the country" is one of turgenev's most well-known plays. "the work, written in france under the title ""student"" between 1848-1850, was banned by the censor in russia and was published in 1855 under the title ""a month in the village"" after the changes requested to be made for moral reasons rather than political." The story tells of a triple love affair between a university student who teaches a lesson to the son of a wealthy landowner, the housewife, and the family's adopted daughter. The final and uncensored version of the play, reviewed by the author, could only be published in 1869.
