the statement made at the meeting of the royal geographical society on january 14, 1862, created a great wave of excitement in the scientific world.

doctor fergusson was planning to cross the african continent.

of course, that wasn't a very new idea. Until then, many brave explorers had fallen on the paths to reveal the secrets of the mysterious continent, and a large number of them had lost their lives on this path. Some explorers, however, had limited their trips to a certain area and could only pass through a few regions. Doctor fergusson's journey would begin from the indian ocean, pass through the continent from start to finish, and reach the atlantic ocean. The doctor's opinion was considered madness.

even a large army could not complete this journey under the conditions of that day. Actually, doctor fergusson's plan was much crazier than people thought, because the famous explorer was thinking of crossing the entire continent in a hot air balloon.

it's fun, it's exciting, it's a great adventure!..
