red plague

jack london, with his work ""red plague"", which started to be published in the london magazine in england in 1912, has become one of the pioneers of ""post-apocalyptic"" literature." In an age when the leaps in population, science and technology, and economics are astonishing, the author reminds us of the fragility of our civilization. It fully reveals the speed at which the cities and lands filled by millions of people surrender to emptiness.

the loss of not only the population, but knowledge, production, even language, is described from the eyes of a professor who bridges the ancient civilization to a new humanity.

so, will the new humanity listen to this barbarism? The sharpness of jack london's predictions, looking at the world of the 2010s, a hundred years after the beginning of the twenty-first century in red plague, makes the book more than a classic, but still a vivid criticism for today.
