It is nourished by the tradition of commedia dell'arte, which was written for the actors of an italian theater in paris. More than thirty plays have been put on the pen, and although he has won the admiration of brilliant minds such as marivaux voltaire and rousseau and has presided over the académie française in 1759, he has not known fame while he was alive and died in poverty. Written in 1725 and staged by italian actors, it is one of the few works by marivaux's plays of the island of slaves in which the spirit of the 18th century is more evident. It's an optimistic and friendly comedy that deals with the burning issues of the mind age, such as social inequality and slavery: two master-slave couples are stranded on an island as a result of a sea accident

in accordance with the laws of this island, the masters-slaves will be the masters.
