Translator: mustafa kemal yılmaz Fyodor mikhailovich dostoyevsky (1821-1881): his first novel, the double, was published in 1846. The renowned critic v. byelinski spoke of this work, calling dostoevsky a future great writer. However, although the works published later are among the literary classics of our age, they did not attract much attention at that time. In 1849, the author was arrested for being a member of the petrashevsky circle, an opposition group to tsar nicholas i's oppressive regime.

when he was about to be lined up for bullets, his sentence was converted to exile and military service. He regained his former glory with the novels he wrote after his siberian exile.

yeniyetme, which was also translated into turkish with the name delikanlı before, was first started to be tefriqued in 1875. The novel, which is woven with striking descriptions about the human effort to realize oneself, the relationships established with great ideas, and in contrast, the desire to escape from oneself, is one of dostoyevsky's most debated works.
