The sea tells stories endlessly, and it should not end. I was inspired to write a dictionary of the sea's language so that those who will describe the sea years ago can explain it better, and those who will read what has been explained can understand it better. First, i wrote the star names dictionary to try out how this would work, followed by the sea fishes dictionary. I paid tribute to süleyman nutkî, the master of the maritime dictionary, and translated his kamûs-i bahrî into our new writing. Meanwhile, i explained some of what i learned in the language of the sea-the writing of the sea.

it needs to be reviewed and processed by both linguists and marine scientists, as well as experienced and marine culture-rich sailors, so that its deficiencies can be remedied and it can have a healthier structure. In this regard, i hope that my compilation will be a useful resource that can be used in turkish maritime language studies, beyond being a general maritime dictionary.
