Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Gecelerim - (in Modern Turkish) - Türk Edebiyatı Klasikleri

Product description

This book is small, but it has a special place in my eyes because it contains the most valuable memories of my lost mazim. Those who know how valuable it is to turn back and look at the past would agree with my statement.

my nights are not a crop of ideas, they have been lived.

the content will clearly prove this anyway. This book contains the most innocent parts of the nights in my life.

i have set it apart from the others for her. Ahmet rasim (1865-1932), who gained the title of "city letter writer" with his writings about istanbul, is one of the most productive and renowned figures in turkish literature and journalism. Ahmet rasim, who was born in istanbul, was raised under very difficult conditions by his mother, ms. nevber, and with the help of his uncle, since his father left the house before he was born. He completed his educational life, which started in neighborhood schools, at darüşşafaka.

he learned french on his own. While working as an officer in the post and telegraph administration, he also started writing for ahmet mithat's newspaper, tercüman-ı hakikat. They launched a humor magazine called boşboğaz with hüseyin rahmi. Ahmet rasim, who also worked as a war correspondent, went to sofia during the balkan war and to the romanian front during the first world war. In 1927, he entered the grand national assembly (tbmm) as a member of the istanbul electorate. He developed the music he was interested in since a young age with the music lessons he received from zekai dede while he was a student at darüşşafaka.

he composed more than sixty songs, most of which were his own lyrics. Ahmet rasim, who pursued his career as a writer until the end of his life, produced works in a wide variety of fields, from stories, novels, and memoirs to newspaper articles, history, and school books. He is one of the writers who did not belong to any literary movement, stayed away from political and literary discussions, and aimed to inform the public. He gained fame with his articles in newspapers such as ceride-i havadis, basiret, tasvir-i efkâr, sabah, ikdam, akşam, and cumhuriyet, reflecting istanbul life in all its colors with his simple and beautiful turkish, and was followed with love. We will continue to include the author's selected works, who knows and understands his hometown, the spirit of the people, customs and traditions very well, in our turkish literature classics series.
