Product description
"among the journals and letters on the desk of the palace head, gazanfer paşa, he finds an envelope with the word ""private"" written on it."
the person who wrote this unsigned letter insists on meeting. When gazanfer paşa finally meets this mysterious person one evening, he stumbles as if he saw himself in a mirror. With this astonishing resemblance, ahmet şevki efendi offers to be the double of the pasha.
the offer comes to gazanfer paşa's mind as well. After receiving the necessary training, ahmet şevki efendi, who was sent to inconsequential meetings and visits to relatives, plays his role so perfectly that even the old lover of gazanfer paşa, ms. meliha, and his sister-in-law, ms. saraylı, do not notice this situation. In the meantime, a love blossoms between şevki efendi and ms. meliha. Gazanfer paşa, upon learning this, summons his stunt double to his residence in nişantaşı. "during the conversation, two guns fire and the next morning, a news article titled ""nişantaşı murder"" appears in the newspapers."
When the case is a murder that needs to be illuminated for the police, it is a mystery if the only person who knows the secret of the stunt is doctor bedri paşa: is the dead one, his friend gazanfer paşa, or the stuntman ahmet şevki? In the novel bir i̇kincisi of gazanfer paşa, which was published in the newspaper i̇leri in 1922 with the collaboration of ahmet kâmil, selim nüzhet gerçek narrates an intriguing detective story adorned with elements of love, jealousy, and revenge. Selim nüzhet gerçek (1891-1945) was born in istanbul. he was the son of journalist, publisher, and educator mahmut celalettin bey, and the brother of abdülhak şinasi hisar. After studying at the gaziosmanpaşa elementary school in rumelihisarı, he graduated from the turkish department of the galatasaray mekteb-i sultanisi (1910). He completed his studies at the faculty of arts of the university of geneva in switzerland. Due to the outbreak of world war i, he couldn't return to his hometown until 1921. During this period, he dealt with turks who were expelled from france, england, and italy. After returning to the dormitory, he started writing articles and novels by translating with the next day's edition in the forward newspaper. For a while, he was tasked with staging plays in darülbedayi. After the declaration of the republic, he left journalism and taught turkish and history at robert college for about ten years. He was assigned to the directorate of compilation of pictographs and calligraphy, established in 1934 by the order of atatürk, and worked here until his death.
Selim nüzhet, who took his real surname due to his sympathy for the real davut ağa who established the istanbul fire department, wrote articles in various newspapers and magazines such as milliyet, yeni türk mecmuası, cumhuriyet, yedigün, yücel, perde ve sahne, akşam, i̇stanbul and ulus.
In addition to this, selim nüzhet, who conducted research on the history of turkish printing, theater history, journalism history, and the bibliography of turkey and wrote works, wrote three novels named canvermezler tekkesi, bir i̇kincisi of gazanfer paşa, and kurban to the unknown forces.
