Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları For Young People Yunan Mitolojisi

Product description

In this book, which is a continuation of the western philosophy for young people, which has been a subject of lively interest for turkish readers for the last ten years, luc ferry once again questions the meaning and timeless message of greek mythology with the same clear and fluent style. "the mythology that has been occupying minds since time immemorial, such as how the world came to be and the origin of man, is actually ""neither a collection of tales and legends nor just a series of more or less extraordinary stories intended for entertainment""." Many people seem to think that the primitive and naive answers given by humanity in childhood to questions that have become the subject of science today are not part of the problem. According to the author, mythology is an effort to understand one's place and role in the cosmos, and to consider what a good life is, and in this sense, it is continuous with philosophy. We believe that this book of luc ferry's attempts to find and extract the philosophical essence found in the ore of the most known texts of greek mythology will be appreciated as his western philosophy for young people.
