Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Balonla Beş Hafta – Hardcover - Jules Verne

Product description

"published in 1863, ""five weeks in a balloon"" is both jules verne's first novel and the first installment of his magnificent collection of extraordinary journeys." The story of the adventurous journey, where the three english explorers, who still kept their mystery in the eyes of europeans at that time, traversed the african continent by balloon, carries all the features that also marked the subsequent jules verne novels.

An innovative scientific invention, a complex plot full of tension and surprises, a journey into the unknown, perseverance and courage of characters who do not spare their eyes on the way to achieving their goals, themes of friendship and loyalty are blended with the author's humor, which wanders on the verge of muzilism. Although the novel is a work of fiction, it was written with the guise of a real travel diary. The observations and remarks of the characters related to african peoples carry traces of the thought climate in europe at that time, and the approaches of the west towards what is not their own.
