Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Ayyar Hamza - Kokona Yatıyor - Turkish Literature Classics

Product description

Two comedy adaptations by mr. ali, who played important roles in the formation of the turkish theater and the development of the comedy genre during the tanzimat period: ayyar hamza and kokona yatıyor. For the first time, ayyar hamza, who was performed at the ottoman theater, where ali bey, established by gülü agop, also worked as a writer and dialectician, takes as its subject the cabinets turned by a deceptive servant. "in today's ""kokona yatıyor"", we witness the absurdities experienced by the servant eleniko while hiding the lady's absence from her master." "mr. ali (director) (1846-1899) was born in istanbul, known as the ""molière of the ottomans"" during his time."

he started by taking special lessons in learning.

after finishing the secondary school, he improved his knowledge of history, geography, philosophy, astronomy, chemistry, economics, management science, law and mathematics through private lessons.

he has learned arabic, persian and french. Mr. ali, who started working in the mektub-i sadr-i ali room, was appointed to the public office as a clerk in 1876, and worked as an inspector at the public administration in 1884-1888.

later, it was found in elazığ and trabzon prefectures. The literary activity was not welcomed by the administrative authorities and was diminished, so mr. ali returned to the public opinion again, was appointed to the directorship in 1895, and continued this duty until the end of his life. Mr. ali started to engage in literature in his youth while maintaining his closeness with the new ottomans.

he wrote plays for the development of a theater suitable for western examples and adapted many plays from french writers. "teodor kasap only signed his humorous articles published in the diyojen magazine under the pseudonym ""ali""."

after the diogen was closed, he continued to write in the rattle tatar and hayal magazines. The first example of its kind in turkish literature, lehçetü'l-hakayık, the three-act comic opera letafet, the humor story seyyareler and the travel journal are among his most important works. We will continue to include mr. ali's selected works in our turkish literature classics series.
