Product description

Alfa Kalem+The Inheritors (William Golding) -newbook- İş Kültür The Inheritors is the story of the destruction of Neanderthal man after his encounter with Homo sapiens. In his 1955 novel, William Golding places the fear of the unknown "other" in the prehistoric period when Neanderthals were living their last days on earth. Golding's Neanderthal man is not in complete harmony with the scientific findings of the time. Since he believes in the "evil" of killing, he is content with the food he finds in nature. Golding also attributes religion and telepathy to him. Considering that cave paintings recently discovered in Spain and France by Neanderthals indicate a cognitive capacity indistinguishable from early modern humans, it is obvious that scientific findings on this subject will continue to be updated day by day. In any case, Golding did not aim to produce a work in harmony with scientific facts, but to present an alternative history that tells man to man

with his violence and power struggles, he sided not with Homo sapiens, the ancestor of modern man, but with Neanderthals, who lacked the necessary equipment to survive in the outside world and the ability to transform their perceptions into coherent lines of thought. The greatness of The Heirs lies in the unparalleled imagination of its creator, in the marvelous style he created with a tremendous linguistic skill to convey everything from the Neanderthal point of view. Described by Arthur Koestler as "an earthquake in the stoned forests of the English novel", The Heirs is one of the most striking works that reveals the violence and corruption inherent in human nature.
