Product description

The book of goodbye, gülsarı, 224 page goodbye, gülsarı is one of the most beautiful novels of the famous writer cengiz aytmatov. The tempestuous life adventure of gülsarı, a famous and renowned horse, from his birth to his death in old age, seems to be the main subject of the novel. But the life of the horse's owner, tanabay, and the kyrgyz young people like tanabay who believed in the revolution, did not pass less turbulent, less tormented. We understand this through tanabay's reckoning with himself and his past during the few hours he spent at the head of his beloved, dying horse, his heart filled with sorrow. Tanabay dreams and reenacts as if he were reliving his childhood, youth, and old age, with all their joys and sorrows, hopes and despair, sins and repentances, within that few-hour period. He dedicated himself to the revolution, to happy days, but the political regime has caused him to spend his life in unhappiness and hardship. Aytmatov, with his unique narrative style and power, vividly presents the nature of the kyrgyz-kazakh people, the traditions and folklore of the kyrgyz-kazakh turks. Love and excitement, criticism with striking examples, deep literary pleasure for the reader, are intensely present in this work of the author. As we read tanabay's selfless but arduous life, we also see that the political regime he was deeply connected to in his youth, communism, was struggling, and we see the inevitability of today's disintegration or collapse.
