Tudem Yayınları Whales among Us: Hardcover

Product description

Written and illustrated by Nick Bland, Whales Among Us is an environmental awareness story that raises awareness about the destruction of animals' natural habitats and raises consciousness about this issue.

With its melodic sound that resonates in the ears of readers, its rhythmic language and striking visuals that stretch the limits of imagination, the book stands out and offers a fairy tale narrative about the future of the seas polluted by human hands.Bland delicately addresses the intolerant attitudes and behaviors of human beings towards those who are not their own, and questions the concepts of individual, society and difference in the background of her poetic story.

One day, whales left their beloved home in the oceans and dived into city life.As the children rejoiced, the adults let out a vague groan

and when the living spaces of the city dwellers were limited and their daily routines began to change gradually, the "weight" of the issue caused an uproar

because whales were now everywhere! So what were whales doing on park benches or in train cars? And even in restaurants? What was it that took them away from the vast waters and landed them on land where they never belonged? This impressive picture book, which questions the "changing" role of human beings on the environment they live in, invites readers to listen to the whales' voices through empathy and not to be indifferent to their call for help.
