” ̶ publishers weeklyShoko's smile is a deeply moving collection, told with authenticity, honesty, and unwavering integrity.Even though the stories are heavy and complicated, they are never depressing.

they show how a simple man with a painful past and an unknown future has spent his years in the cold glare of the sun.

” ̶ guardianThe seven stories that make up shoko's smile are full of silences and absences, things that are not accepted or spoken. The reader - and sometimes the characters - try to solve these gaps and guess what might be there as much as they can.

sometimes it is possible.

most of the time it is not. The result is a powerful singularism that brings the book to life.
