Product description

A mother and daughter set off to meet in tokyo from abroad: here they walk along the canals during the autumn evenings, run away from typhoon rains, share their meals in small cafes and restaurants, and visit museums and galleries to see the radical modern art of the city.

at this time, they talk about the weather, signs, clothes and objects, family, distance and memory.

however, there are many uncertainties.

who is really talking here –just the girl, or the mother? And what is the real reason behind this elliptical, or maybe even imaginary journey? In the form of a lean and depth narrative, it is a subtly written novel about whether any of us speaks a common language, what dimensions can be opened to love in a relationship equation, and what courage it takes to really know someone else's inner world. Jessica au's short novel snow weather tells the story of family traits inherited from generation to generation and the artful flow of consciousness moving away from them. "while reading a book, i rarely get emotional - the new york times." The literary power of jessica au, which lies behind the quiet beauty and serene simplicity of snow weather, is admirable.

” —eduard louis“au's calm and powerful focus could have covered a longer book – but this novel is elegant and deep.

just like the narrator fine-tuning the aperture of the camera, au is selecting our scale, guiding us on what to pay attention to.
