Product description

“words are a powerful thing! Exceeds time, connects to past events. "italo svevo, the main characters mentioned in freud's zeno's consciousness stories are known by many: dora, little hans, rat man, wolf man... so, what do we know about the real names and real lives behind these pseudonyms?" Have you heard that italo svevo wrote the novel of zeno's consciousness, which left a mark on literary history, in addition to his interest in freud's works, based on the psychoanalytic process of his wife's brother, bruno veneziani? In freud's patients, you will read unfamiliar cases such as pauline silberstein, who gave herself away from the analyst's building with familiar stories, famous architect karl mayreder, millionaire carl liebmann. In this work, mikkel borch-jacobsen, while telling the lives lived in freud's couch, strikingly reveals the development process of psychoanalysis based on sources.

These stories are sometimes funny, sometimes tragic and touching. Okura conveys the historical atmosphere of vienna, the final days of the austria-hungary empire, the destructiveness of the first and second world wars, and also allows you to get to know a completely different freud.
