Later, they begin to experience mysterious symptoms that cannot be diagnosed by doctors, and suffer from pains affecting the nervous system. As ella's anxiety grows, a powerful gravitational pull, like a vortex of the past, creates a focal point for the rest of the family: the widow father, the stepmother, the half-twins, and her own biological father. Each of them has their own unique experiences of illness and violence, which both unite and atomize them, revealing the systems that hold them together. This novel, which presents the parallelism between the nervous system and galaxies and stars in a subtle narrative form, is a work that tells the story of a family full of love, resentment, and secrets, leaning on the turbulent political history of chile.
