Hello, this straw model of ours is specially designed for cold drinks and ice water. If you use it for hot consumption, you may have problems with the straw lid mechanism - hot liquids can affect the vacuum pressure, causing leakage and disrupting the functionality of the lid. It also might damage the straw part. I suggest you review Stanley's Trigger-Action or Classic series thermos for hot beverages. If you have any other questions I'm happy to help.
