The conquest of Jerusalem by the Crusaders in 1099 was the turning point in a process that terrified the Islamic world
The reconquest of Urfa in 1146 was the first major historical development that heralded the end of that terrifying process.
The forty-seven year period between these two historical events is of historical importance in terms of the formation of the Muslim struggle against the Crusaders
however, unlike Western research, there have been no studies in the Muslim world that correspond to the importance of that period
Moreover, the Muslim struggle against the Crusaders has been studied mostly through the eyes of Western researchers and by focusing on the Crusades. This is in fact the treatment of the Muslim struggle through the eyes of the opponents of Islam
it is approaching the invasion with the logic of the invaders
this book deals with the period in question by focusing on the Muslim struggle against the Crusaders and without ignoring the Western studies
I.Kılıçarslan Tuğtegin Ibn Ammâr Muhammad Tapar İlgazi Belek Khan Mawdûd Aksungur al-Porsukî Imâd al-Din Zengî and makes a unique contribution to the research on the Muslim struggle against the Crusaders.
The concluding chapter of the book, which evaluates the Muslim struggle against the Crusaders in that period, is also remarkable and gives the book a different importance.
