Siren Yayınları Saraybosna Radyosu

Product description

This is the story of my childhood. Sarajevo, 1992. Tijan, the narrator of saraybosna radio, is only ten years old when the war begins, and he never forgets the explosive smell he first encountered that day. While sarajevo was engulfed in flames, this naive boy gradually steps into adolescence. He wanders through the ruins of the city under fire, collects the belongings left behind by the fugitives and the dead, and trades what he collects for food in the black market.

as they learn to survive, they come to accept the presence of the war that surrounds them.

as with everything else, it has its costs and it is heavy.

saraybosna radio, from the perspective of a child on the verge of adulthood, tells about one of the most devastating periods of the recent past. The destruction of a city paves the way for a family's exile, the closing of an era sets the stage for an individual's search. Ingeborg bachmann's award-winning *tijan sila* paints a portrait of our time with a melancholic and tragicomic voice.
